Equine Therapy
At my ranch, you and your clients will practice Equine Therapy. Equine Assisted Psychotherapy is practiced with myself, my horses, and a mental health professional. Equine Assisted Learning is with myself and my herd.
THERAPY
Styles
EQUINE-ASSISTED PSYCHOTHERAPY – A team approach to therapy. Consisting of a mental health professional, equine professional, horses and clients. The mental health provider need not have any experience with EAP, as I have over 25 years of experience. I was trained and certified by E.A.G.A.L.A. and continue my training to this day.
EQUINE-ASSISTED LEARNING – This is also a very effective type of life coaching and/or learning. It does not have the mental health practitioner component.
Connecting with horses to facilitate growth, learning and healing in individuals, families or groups of all types. To foster and develop essential life skills in communication, teamwork and problem solving.
It is often said horses are the mirror to our soul. They simply give what they receive. My horses mirror everyday exactly where I am in my personal journey, which has always been a trait I am forever grateful for. They keep me grounded, honest, loving and true to my word.
Typically the client is seen weekly for 10-12 sessions. Sessions are approximately 60 minutes.
You may bring your client(s), family, groups, organizations to my ranch and together we will go through many ground activities that will assist your client on their journey of self discovery (whatever that looks/feels like to them) and gain an increased awareness of who they are, how they think and process. It is vastly different from traditional therapy which is often in a clinical setting. You and your client will be outside in a green pasture fully equipped with sunshine, fresh air, birds chirping, dogs and horses of course!
